Opportunity description
After taking part in our training on Understanding Memory Loss and Dementia and discussing your skills, interests and time availability with us you can volunteer as a Cuimhne Champion, helping to promote inclusion of people living with dementia, their family and carer. There are lots of different opportunities within this role which can be tailored around your interests, skills, time and community need.
Commitment required / duration: negotiable
Training provided: All volunteers will be given an induction into our work and training on Understanding memory loss and dementia.
Benefits and perks: Through volunteering you will develop understanding of memory loss and dementia, meet new people, share existing skills and gain new ones, make a difference within our community, champion equality and inclusion and build experience .
Skills required: enthusiasm, interest and a willingness to learn plus various skills depending on the role tailored for you (eg arts and craft, listening and communication skills, photography, event organisation, writing, public speaking, social media)
Opportunity location: London or beyond within one of our member groups – to be discussed
Travel expenses: out of pocket travel expenses may be reimbursed with receipts
