Volunteering
Irish in Britain has over 100 member organisations across Britain, many of whom work directly with the most vulnerable people in our community and rely on the invaluable support of volunteers to effectively provide their services.

Irish in Britain’s Annual Volunteer Awards
The Irish in Britain Volunteer Awards, launched at the Irish Embassy in 2018, showcase the phenomenal work that volunteers do in our community and honour some outstanding individuals and groups for their extraordinary contribution.
Every year, Irish in Britain ask our friends and members to nominate someone they know who volunteers for an Irish in Britain member to receive an award.
Winners are chosen by an expert panel of judges to receive a prize and recognition at the annual awards ceremony. The ceremony takes place during Volunteer Week in the first week of June and is a community–wide celebration of the power and importance of volunteers.
***The Volunteer Awards process for 2020 has been postponed to later in the year because of the coronavirus crisis. We will announce new arrangements in plenty of time for people to make nominations.
