Originally from Co Waterford I have lived and worked in the UK since 1987 and have been involved in the delivery and strategic management of health and social care for the past 20 years. 

In that time I have worked in leadership roles across supported housing and community drug and alcohol services and have been active in developing capacity in local community response organisations.

I’m proud of the part I’ve played in changing people’s lives over the years. But more importantly, I’ve felt honoured to work with and learn from so many inspiring people along the way.

I’ve learnt a lot during this time, but perhaps the most important lesson has been that voluntary sector has so much to offer to meet the needs of our community, sensitively, with compassion and with pride, and together we can make a huge difference to the experience of our community.”
