Sinead Dineen from the London Rose Centre said, “I asked Marie to give a health and wellbeing talk to our London Rose finalists as I feel it’s important that throughout the tour and selection process, we should encourage our Roses to look after their physical and mental health.”

The theme of this year’s MHAW is centred on body image and how we think and feel about our bodies. Laura Kennedy, one of the finalists said, “It was particularly special to meet Marie during mental health awareness week as we talked about stress, anxiety and body image – something that affects so many of us young people growing up today”

Marie Dillon said, “The evening was an excellent opportunity to engage with a dynamic and progressive group of people and to hear about their personal experiences and wider perspectives on mental health. The Green Hearts Mental Health Charter aims to build on the power of Irish community networks such as the Rose Centre and Britain GAA to raise mental health awareness and remove the stigma surrounding it.”

Finalist Katie Fallon said, “It was also such a relief to hear the other women talk about their own experiences with looking after their mind/body, and seeing how we can take care of each other just by talking to each other”
